The series of workshops aims to support Ukrainian citisens in facing the challenge of the reconstruction of their country in peacetime. A series of meetings related to cities reconstruction and participatory urban planning; discussions and workshops for Ukrainians living in Poland were organised in March and April 2023. The goal was to foster discussions about cities reconstruction, not from architects' and professionals' point of view but from a public, non-professional perspective.

The project is a way to talk about heritage, not only as formally and objectively defined, but also as heritage living in the collective memory of the places. This is a conclusion from some case studies of reconstructed cities - places live not only in material architectural objects, but also in the collective memory of people. By organising a series of stationary workshops (in Warsaw) for Ukrainians living in Poland, we encourage people to participate in the debate about reconstruction as well as draw a "database", consisting not only of monuments and data related to them, but also places and buildings important for citisens. After completing the workshops, we are convinced such meetings bring new value to the design practice. They are also valuable for the debate over architecture and urbanism.
